This page lists everything this website stores in your browser. The list is short on purpose: there is no advertising network here, no tracking pixel and no third-party analytics service.

Cookies needed to sign in

These are set only when you open the account section, and the site cannot work without them.

• session — keeps you signed in. It is marked httpOnly, which means no script on the page can read it, and it holds nothing but your account identifier in a signed form.
• oauth_state, link_nonce, desktop_login, desktop_device, ref_code — live for ten minutes while you are signing in through Twitch or Google. They let the site check that the answer coming back belongs to the request that started, remember whether the sign-in was started from the desktop application, so that the key is handed to it instead of opening a browser session, and carry a creator’s referral code when you arrived through one.

Values kept in your browser

These are not cookies: they stay on your device and are never sent to the server. They exist so the site does not ask you the same thing twice.

• The interface language you picked.
• In the account section: the currency, the subscription period and the payment method you last chose, and the email address you last used for an invoice.
• A note that you have read the cookie bar, so it is not shown again.
• A creator’s referral code, if you arrived through their link. It is sent once, together with your own sign-in, and forgotten after thirty days.

How visits are counted without cookies

We count visits ourselves. For each page opened we store the path, the page language, the host of the site you arrived from and whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer. Your IP address and browser string are used only to compute a short hash that separates one visitor from another, and neither of them is stored. That hash includes the current date, so the same person becomes a different visitor tomorrow and no history can be assembled — not even by us.

Optional cookies

There are none, and there is nothing here for you to switch on or off. Counting visits needs no cookies: the server turns your address and browser string into a short hash that changes every day, and keeps only that. If we ever add a traffic-analysis service that does set cookies, it will be named on this page before it loads, and it will not load until you allow it — the bar will ask you then, with a real choice in it.

Blocking cookies in your browser

Your browser can also block or delete cookies for this site entirely. Everything on the site keeps working except the account section: without the sign-in cookie there is no way to know that the page belongs to you.
